Celebrate sum­mer with a week­end of wine tast­ing, food pair­ings, and spec­tac­u­lar Garden vis­tas. The Fourth Annual Chicago Botanic Garden Wine Festival allows novices and expe­ri­enced oenophiles to develop their palates with sem­i­nars and demon­stra­tions con­ducted by event spon­sors, exhibit­ing winer­ies, Chicago area chefs, restau­ra­teurs, and spe­cialty food shops.

What con­sti­tutes “the best?” Well, like a lot of things, it depends on whom you ask. So, the Missouri Division of Tourism recently con­ducted an infor­mal Facebook poll where they asked their fans to tell them where to find things like “the best” of every­thing, from best cheese­burg­ers to best scenic drives.

Want some­where new to get some­thing old? Try the Depot American Diner on the west side of Chicago. A friend sug­gested it to us on a recent day in the city, so we gave it a try. It was worth the trip, and the self induced food coma it brought on.
