On Day Three we left our cabins on the Caddo River for a day trip to nearby Wegner’s Quartz Mine in Mount Ida, Arkansas. What we didn’t find in diamonds yesterday, we figured we’d make up for in quartz today. We were right, and then some! If you have nerves of steel, explore the new “Haunted Arkansas” Web section www.Arkansas.com/haunted — unveiled just in time for Halloween! The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism announced today that the 24th Annual Blues and Heritage Festival will be held October 8–10 in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. The Festival (formally known as the King Biscuit Blues Festival) is the largest blues festival in the south. |
