WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Aug. 26, 2009) – It’s nearly that the time of the year again when things go bump in the night. This season, Busch Gardens’ annual “spooktacular,” Howl-O-Scream, will feature more attractions than ever before—most of them new—and the effect will be jaw-dropping.
For the 11th year of this haunting event, the fright fest will feature 18 scare zones, haunted attractions and Halloween-themed live shows. Fifteen of the attractions are completely new.
“All of us at the park are thrilled about Howl-O-Scream this year; we have more Halloween attractions than ever before and more than 75 percent of those attractions are new. We’re anticipating a very exciting fall,” said John Reilly, general manager and executive vice president of Busch Gardens. “This year, Howl-O-Scream will be bigger and better than ever. We’re really looking forward to all of the new elements.”
Trolls, werewolves, ogres and witches will be some of the creatures guests will find hiding in places like “Cursed” and the “Cavern of Darkness.” Tamer versions of many Howl-O-Scream attractions will be available for children during the day.
Howl-O-Scream begins Sept. 25 and continues every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Nov. 1.
For the first time, Busch Gardens is offering a Fall Fun Card available to Virginia residents which will be valid from Sept. 11 through Nov. 1. The Fall Fun Card goes on sale Sept. 8. Ratings for each activity are posted at the attractions and on the show schedule. For more information, guests may call (800) 343-7946 or visit http://www.howl-o-scream.com.
