WILLIAMSBURG, Va., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ — Couples look­ing for tem­per­ate win­ter weather can enjoy Colonial Williamsburg’s Winter Stories Package at the Williamsburg Lodge. Guests can immerse them­selves and engage in the true sto­ries of America’s first cit­i­zens and the trades they prac­ticed; walk the streets of the Historic Area; visit the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum and the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum, shop at Merchants Square, and be pam­pered at the Spa.

The Winter Stories pack­age starts at $299 per cou­ple and includes a three-day, two-night stay at the Williamsburg Lodge, a $100 gift card, daily break­fast in the Lodge restau­rant and length-of-stay admis­sion to Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area and muse­ums. The gift card may be applied toward pur­chases such as spa ser­vices at The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg, golf at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, din­ing in Colonial Williamsburg tav­erns or restau­rants, or at an offi­cial, on-site Colonial Williamsburg-owned store. Guests of the Lodge can enjoy the fit­ness quar­ters at The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg and the heated indoor lap pool at no addi­tional charge. Those stay­ing at the Lodge this win­ter have access to exclu­sive pro­gram­ming includ­ing The History of Theater in Williamsburg, a behind-the-scenes look at the role the­ater played in 18th-century Williamsburg along with An Audience with a Founding Father fea­tur­ing George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, or Patrick Henry.

The Winter Stories pack­age is based on a two-night min­i­mum stay with Sunday through Wednesday arrival at the Williamsburg Lodge in a supe­rior guest room. Opened in 1939, the Williamsburg Lodge is one of the first Colonial Williamsburg hotels con­structed under the guid­ance of John D. Rockefeller Jr., the founder and first bene­fac­tor of the town’s restora­tion. The recently ren­o­vated Lodge tells the story of its Virginia set­ting and the his­tory of the town Rockefeller restored.
