If you're planning on visiting Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, your ability to plan your trip with an eye towards utilizing public transportation just got easier.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) announced that it has made its route and schedule information for regional rail, subways and trolleys available on Google Maps. Google Maps users will be automatically shown routes utilizing public transportation where available.
SEPTA plans to add bus and trackless trolley route information later in the year.
SEPTA continues to offer its Plan My Trip online trip planning service. Plan My Trip creates travel itineraries for SEPTA’s bus, subway, trolley, and Regional Rail service.
SEPTA is the nation’s fifth largest public transportation system, with a vast network of fixed route services including bus, subway/elevated, trackless trolley, light rail, and commuter rail serving a 2,200 square mile service region.

Also, visitors who drive in can get free hotel parking with the Philly Overnight Hotel Package, which means they can drop their car off and use SEPTA (or their own two legs) the rest of their trip in Philadelphia. Good stuff.
Caroline, thanks for the additional information. I love Philadelphia, the architecture is stunning and Pat’s Philly cheesesteaks are the best!
