Scouts get free zoo admission for Scout Weekend



Any scout in uniform gets in free with paying adult

WHAT:

Woodland Park Zoo, in Seattle Washington, celebrates the scouting spirit with the first ever Scout Weekend at the Zoo. On October 3 and 4, any scout in uniform, including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Camp Fire USA, will receive free admission to the zoo when accompanied by a paying, full-price adult.

PLUS: The Chief Seattle Council of the Boy Scouts of America will host a Scout Expo activity center open to all visitors on Saturday, Oct. 3 on the zoo's North Meadow featuring exhibits, challenges, and three merit badge clinics-reptiles, mammals and orienteering. Come and learn more about the Boy Scouts as they prepare to celebrate their 2010 centennial.

WHEN:

Scout Weekend is Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Special activities at the Boy Scout Expo will take place on Saturday, October 3 from 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

WHERE:

Enter at the zoo's South Entrance at N. 50th St. & Fremont Ave. N., or West Entrance at Phinney Ave. N. & N. 55th St. Boy Scout Expo activities on Saturday will take place in the zoo's North Meadow.

COST:

Any scout in uniform, including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Camp Fire USA, will receive free admission when accompanied by a paying, full-price adult. Regular admission prices: October 1 - April 30: Adult (13-64) $11.00; Child (3-12) $8.00. Free for children 2 and under year round. Seniors and people with disabilities receive a discount and zoo members receive free zoo admission year round.
