The are lots of reasons to visit the Great Lakes any time of the year, from island camping and diving ship wrecks to visiting historic light houses. This coming summer, there will be one more reason: the Great Lakes will host the Tall Ships Challenge race series in 2010. The ships will race through all five Great Lakes, making port appearances in cities throughout the region.

The Tall Ships' host ports for summer 2010 are:

Bay City, Michigan July 15 - 18

Duluth, Minnesota July 29- August 1

Green Bay, Wisconsin August 12 -15

Chicago, Illinois August 26 - 30

Maritime festivals in each host port will give visitors a chance to board the tall ships, meet the crew and learn about the variety of opportunities to sail and travel aboard these magnificent vessels.  For information on each port visit:  www.greatlakesnorthamerica.co.uk
