Tour Tall Ships at the Maritime Heritage Festival in Port Washington, Wisconsin

Tall ship Madeline
The 2009 Port Washington Maritime Festival launches this weekend, August 14-16 in Port Washington, Wisconsin. Visitors can take tours of four masted ships: The Madeline, reconstruction of a mid 19th century fore and aft schooner; the S/V Denis Sullivan, a 137-foot re-creation of a three-masted, 19th century Great Lakes schooner; the Friends Good Will, a replica of an 1810 square topsail sloop, the only one of its type operating on the Great Lakes; very rare, even nationwide; and the Red Witch, a 77-foot 2 masted topsail schooner with a dramatic crimson red hull.
The four tall ships will take part in a Parade of Sail on August 13, and then will be open for tours and day and evening sails. There will be fireworks on Saturday at approximately 9:15 pm and live entertainment from various bands throughout the weekend. Passports for ship tour and museum are $3 in advance.
