Architectural Tours of Chicago

The Financial Times of London has a great article on the architecture of Chicago, as experienced by a visitor. Jane Ure-Smith, the author, focuses mostly on Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural legacy, including Wright's Robie House:
Located in Hyde Park (the area around Chicago University), the Robie House is still a showstopper. Long and low, with dramatic cantilevered overhangs, the house is Wright’s most elegant rendering of the Prairie style. Inside, the Prairie themes unfold before you: the free-flowing living space, the secure central hearth, the uninterrupted ribbon of window connecting the room to the world outside.

The Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) has a directory of architectural tours of Chicago, including a great architectural boat cruise that departs from the Navy Pier area and takes you through downtown Chicago via the Chicago river. I highly recommend the boat cruise, as it gives you an entirely different perspective on Chicago.
Other tours include bus, walking and neighborhood tours.
